What Do We Do at East Junior High School?
The mission of East Junior High School is to provide an opportunity for all students to show academic growth by demonstrating proficiency or advanced proficiency on any local, state, or national assessment and ultimately advance to the next grade level.
Why Do We Exist?
East Junior High School is a learning community where all are supported for personal and academic success in preparation to matriculate into high school, post-secondary, and the competitive world beyond.
The goals for our school are visible daily. We model the values that we expect scholars to exhibit. Those values are essential to our culture and guide our aspirational and constructive environment. They put scholars on the PATH to success. They are:
- Professional – Be and stay organized, use complete sentences when speaking, be on time and prepared when in class, bring supplies, dress within the dress code and with the right attitude.
- Attentive – Demonstrating good listening skills, eye contact and posture, being committed to studying and learning, and reading all directions, asking insightful questions and participating.
- Thoughtful – Be nice, be a community (ask for help and help others), show respect to
yourself, classmates, faculty, families and the physical space of the school, always use
respectful language (please, excuse me, thank you, sorry, and you are welcome) when possible.
- Hardworking – Putting forth the effort regardless of difficulty and levels of frustration. Understanding that success does not come without putting in the time and effort. Also looking for support and giving support to teammates.
