Dear Parents/Guardians
My name is Mrs. Nicole Banks. I will be your child’s 8th grade Social Studies teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. I am starting my twenty second year of teaching this school year, in which I am proud to say that twenty years have been at East Junior High School. I would like to welcome you and your child to my class. If there is anything I can do to help you and your child to have a successful year, please do not hesitate to contact me.If you need to contact me,the phone number to the school is (901) 465-3151. I communicate to you using ClassDojo.com. If I have not contacted you already, you can email me your cell phone number and/or email and I will send you an invitation to join. I communicate updates of class through this venue as well as via Remind. You can join me on Remind by finding the class: EJHS 8th Grade Class 2020-2021 and join @c3b9k8D. You can follow me on Twitter: @NicoleBanksEJHS as well. I would really enjoy your interaction with your child, so we can work together to make this the best year ever. Please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected].

If you would like to get acquainted with the State Standards for this class here is the following. This class includes the U.S. History that covers Colonization through the Transcontinental Railroad. We have a great number of Tennessee State Standards to cover this year. You can access these standards at www.tn.gov/education. Let’s make the 2020-2021 school year the best ever, even though it will be very different than ever before. Again, if you need to contact me, please do not hesitate to do so. I look forward to working with you this year!!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Nicole Banks
